There was controversy aplenty on the Canniepairt, where Tayport had to settle for a solitary point from their East Super League clash against Forfar West End.
That West End were awarded two penalties, one in the second minute, the other in the 90th, caused outrage in the Tayport camp.
Ex 'Port player Robbie Holden won the first spot kick, going down under some pressure inside the box. Another former Tayport player, Bryan Duell, successfully converted.
The hosts then took the game to Forfar and were ahead by half-time. A Mark Whatley corner, after half an hour, was knocked down by Ronnie Kenneth, allowing Barry McNaughton to sweep the ball home at the far post.
Ten minutes later, James Russell burst through and tucked his effort past advancing 'keeper Vanderdeyl, to give Tayport a deserved lead.
Before the interval, Robbie Henderson tested Vanderdeyl at his near post and, in the second half, Henderson had another chance, but could find no way past the Forfar custodian.
West End did boss the second period, but did not really call Neal Ferrie into serious action and it looked as though 'Port would hold out for an important victory.
With ninety minutes on the clock, however, the far-side linesman involved himself in the game, raising his flag to indicate a handball offence, and the referee consequently pointed to the spot.
Duell having been substituted, Andy McDonald took the penalty and, although Ferrie made the save, he was unable to prevent the loose ball being rammed home for a cruel equaliser.
Emotions were running high at the final whistle, and 'Port skipper Roberto Morris was red-carded for dissent after the match was over.
