Tayport took on Coupar Angus on Wednesday night in their tenth match of the season. The home side set the pace of the match quickly with Dayle Robertson scoring in the 3rd minute after he was granted a penalty due to being taken down inside the box. This was soon followed by a chance for Ryan Paterson after a strong pass by Lyall Shaw, however his shot went wide. In the 14th minute Jamie McCabe scored a second for the Port after good build up play from the home side. This was closely followed by a fantastic 3rd goal by Paterson in the 19th minute who curled the ball into the top left-hand corner of the net. Tayport held firm in their lead and rarely allowed Coupar Angus an opportunity to score. McCabe came close to scoring again this time from a free kick; however his shot went wide. In the 44th minute Reece Ritchie furthered Tayport’s lead after a quick pass from Dayle Robertson. Tayport left the pitch in high spirits, going into the break 4-0 up.

The teams returned for the second half energised, with Coupar Angus stepping up their game. However, Tayport still managed to control the match. Dayle Robertson had an early chance in the half, but the ball went just wide of the post. In the 61st minute Robertson made it 5-0 after a pass from man of the match, Reece Ritchie. Tayport continued to look for more goals, with substitute Gordon Norrie coming close. Tayport’s 6th goal came courtesy of Ritchie in the 73rd minute who slotted the ball past the keeper. Both teams had used all three substitutes but in the final stages of the match Coupar Angus were granted a concussion substitute after a head knock to one of their players, Tayport were then allowed to bring on a fourth substitute as Ross Cameron took to the field. The away side looked for an opportunity to score in the final minutes but were unable to get on the score sheet. The match ended Tayport 6-0 Coupar Angus. Reece Ritchie was named the Tayport Distillery Man of the Match.
