Sad to report the end of another era with the recent passing of Dorothy Hughes at the ripe old age of 97. Widow of former player and club chairman Davie Hughes, Dorothy was the last surviving member of the band of ladies who made the coffee and served the tables at the Tayport FC Saturday Coffee Mornings in the Gregory Hall. The Coffee Mornings were an integral part of a resurgent club’s fundraising efforts in the late 1960s and early 70s and provided the foundation for the club’s success which would follow. We offer Dorothy’s family our condolences.
