The team played their second friendly match of pre-season tonight as we took on Newburgh Juniors at East Shore Park. Newburgh started on the front foot getting two early corners in the first few minutes. But after the early pressure Tayport took control of the match and created a number of chances but couldn't find the net. In the 32nd minute Newburgh went down to 10 men after a high tackle on Lyall Shaw. 2 minutes later Tayport took the lead through Dayle Robertson. The second half took the same shape as the first with Tayport dominating. Robertson got his second in the 61st minute after Gill cut the ball back to Robertson who fired the ball home. Newburgh created a few chances as the match went on forcing Gary Thain into some good saves. The third goal came in the 86th minute after Gill again found Robertson who slotted home for his hat-trick. Another good performance and result for the team as they continue their preparations for the new season. Thank you to Newburgh for the match tonight and all the best for the upcoming season.
