Tayport FC 7 - Brechin Victoria 0

Tayport continued their winning start to the season with a phenomenal 7-0 victory over Brechin Vics. Tayport got off to a flying start at the Canniepairt, with Dayle Robertson putting them 1-0 up inside the first minute. The goals just kept coming for the home side, with Robertson bagging a second inside the 15 minute mark. The third came shortly after, this time from Jamie McCabe to give Tayport a comfortable lead with less than 20 minutes played – it was looking to be a long afternoon for Brechin Vics and things just continued to get worse for the away side. Tayport continued to be in control of the game and Robertson slotted away a header on the 27th minute to complete his hattrick and put the side four goals up. Tayport’s fourth came shortly after from Robertson again, four for the striker and five for the home side. The first half came to a close with Tayport comfortably in the lead. As the second half got underway Tayport were looking keen to score more and the sixth came in the 69th minute from substitute Zak Wilson, with the seventh shortly after, this time from Gordon Norrie who calmly slots home the seventh. Brechin hardly got a look in and the full time whistle blew with Tayport taking the clean sheet and all three points from today’s game. A sensational performance from the home side and a thoroughly deserved win. Next week sees the boys taking on Dundee Violet away from home in a 13.45 kick off.
