Match Report: Carnoustie Panmure 0 - 3 Tayport - by Iain Brough
Tayport secured an impressive away victory at Laird Park, defeating Carnoustie Panmure by three goals to nil, with all the scoring completed before the interval.
The visitors made a strong start and were ahead through a well-worked move down the left flank. Ethan Samson produced an excellent run, beating the Carnoustie right back before delivering a pinpoint cross into the area. Jamie Hume rose highest to meet it and guided his header beyond the goalkeeper to open the scoring.
Hume was involved again shortly after, this time turning provider. The midfielder played in Nick Mann, who calmly slotted the ball under the Carnoustie goalkeeper, leaving him with no chance of making a save.
On the stroke of half time, Tayport added a third. Jay Yule timed his run perfectly to beat the offside trap and showed composure to lob the advancing Carnoustie goalkeeper, completing a dominant first half display.
The second period was a more balanced affair, with Carnoustie looking better organised defensively. Their best chance came from a powerful effort which was parried by Tayport’s trialist goalkeeper, the rebound striking the crossbar before being cleared by the defence. Beyond that, the home side offered little in attack and Tayport managed the game professionally to see out the victory.
Full time: Carnoustie Panmure 0 Tayport 3.
